Exam Nerves & Performance Anxiety

Exam nerves can ruin a years hard work. Exam nerves doesn't just effect someone on the day. It can build up over months, affecting sleep, study and pretty much ever other aspect of a person's life. This is not just a condition for the young, getting through their first experiences of sitting potentially life-changing tests. Exam nerves can affect people of all ages from those doing third-level exams through to driving-tests or job interview tests. Pretty much any situation where your performance and ability has a measurable outcome that can define something significant for you.

Similarly with Performance Anxiety. Even the most talented of speakers or the most famous performers can suffer a bout of stage fright. In polls conducted in most every country, speaking in public is the number one fear among people, with death usually coming in around third. Sufferer's are generally like those dealing with exam nerves, individuals who tend to care too much about the quality of their performance, than with other contributing factors. They can also be people who suffered a negative experience doing something similar in their past.
Hypnotherapy and NLP are incredibly effective at eliminating limiting beliefs about ability while encouraging a sense of calm and relaxation. The sessions also show the individual how to develop focus and concentration as well as teaching him or her positive learning strategies.
